NASCENTE emerges from the Neve Insular utopia. A dream of growing a cotton field, now realised, that reaches beyond borders and unfolds into an installation summing up a year of dedication.
A collaboration between the authors Rita Rainho and Vanessa Monteiro and the fashion designer Flávia Aranha. This dwelling brings together various elements from the Cotton Cycle Workshop - Natural Dyeing.
This installation took place as part of URDI - National Craft Fair, promoted by CNAD at Praça Amílcar Cabral.
This first immersion in the almost-lost techniques and knowledge of dyeing natural fibres takes us through the plantation and the rural interior, guided by Vasco Martins’ Lunário Perpétuo, which sets the direction of NASCENTE, in a Brazil - Cape Verde, Cape Verde - Brazil exchange.
